Federal Support

CBC News has an interactive hub of benefits to help Canadians discover and access the resources available.

The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted many Canadians, and the federal government has taken an iterative approach to developing a substantial amount of financial support for employers and employees, small-business owners, and large organizations. Financial supports are available to help as many Canadians as possible as we learn to cope with the current situation.

In the spirit of community, a law student at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) inspired the creation of a free service to provide clear and simple information about the resources available to Canadians impacted by COVID-19. The service, created by students, alumni, and professors of TRU, is a blog and an app and can work on any digital device. Click here to try out the app.

Federal Resources for People of Colour (PoC)

The Government of Canada has developed this substantial list of resources for PoC, covering topics such as Canada’s Action Plan Against Racism, employment and income supports, justice, and social participation.

Caribbean African Canadian Social Services (CAFCAN) — this non-profit is focused on building and strengthening the service framework for African Canadians
